About
Paragliding and hang gliding, all in one place
What Catavento is
Catavento is a free, independent directory of paragliding and hang gliding: flying sites and who manages them, clubs, schools and tandem flights, shops, events and safety notices. It brings together information that's already public, says where each piece comes from, and links to the official source.
Why the name
Catavento is Portuguese for pinwheel: it means “catch the wind”. Like a pinwheel, everything here turns around one centre: the sites, clubs, schools and pilots of free flight.
Independent
Catavento isn't affiliated with any national body, site guide, club, school or business. Being listed here isn't an endorsement, and no one pays to be listed.
An early prototype
Catavento is being shared with pilots, clubs and schools to find out what's useful. Information may be incomplete or out of date: always check the official source before you fly.
Where the information comes from
Every page lists its sources. See Sources for each one we use, Status for when each was last checked, and Bot policy for how we collect it.
