Buying used gear

Used gear can be a good way to start, as long as it suits you and is in good condition. Before you buy, check:

  • the wing's certification class, and that its weight range suits you;
  • its age and how many hours it has flown;
  • when its lines and fabric (porosity) were last checked;
  • when the reserve parachute was last repacked;
  • whether it has been in any incident.

Have it inspected by a service centre before you fly it.
