Visiting pilots

  • Pilots who live outside Colombia need an IPPI card, a current home-country licence and a temporary flight licence from Fedeaereos.
  • Apart from students in training, paraglider pilots may only fly if registered with or affiliated to a paragliding club.

A short summary, not legal advice. Rules change, so check the current requirements with Federación Colombiana de Deportes Aéreos (Fedeaereos) before you fly. Summary checked 13 Oct 2026.

Learning to fly

  • Training must be done at a paragliding school recognised by Fedeaereos.
  • Students must be adults; 14 to 17-year-olds need permission from a parent or guardian, signed before a notary.
  • After the course, students must join a paragliding club, where their further training and flying continues.
