Visiting pilots

  • Pilots may fly under a licence and ratings issued abroad, if they also hold valid proof of medical fitness under the issuing country's rules.

A short summary, not legal advice. Rules change, so check the current requirements with Hrvatski zrakoplovni savez (Croatian Aeronautical Federation) before you fly. Summary checked 13 Oct 2026.

Learning to fly

  • Training for a paraglider or hang glider licence may only be given by an approved training organisation.
  • The Croatian Civil Aviation Agency (CCAA) issues licences; a Category A licence needs a training certificate, a practical check and a valid medical certificate.
  • Minors need signed parental or guardian consent to start training.
