Visiting pilots

  • Foreign pilots may fly with a valid home licence plus an FAI sporting licence or IPPI card; without one of these, only under an instructor's supervision.

A short summary, not legal advice. Rules change, so check the current requirements with Zveza za prosto letenje Slovenije (ZPLS / SFFA, Slovenian Free Flight Association) before you fly. Summary checked 13 Oct 2026.

Learning to fly

  • Training starts from age 15 with an authorised instructor, after a theory course and written test; under-18s need parental consent.
  • The licence exam (theory and practical) is taken from age 16 before an authority-appointed exam board, with a category B driving-licence medical.
