Overview

How flying works here

National body: Türkiye Hava Sporları Federasyonu (THSF, Turkish Air Sports Federation) (opens in a new tab)

Visiting pilots

  • The Turkish Air Sports Federation (THSF) is Türkiye's FAI member and sets paragliding pilot levels and training rules.

A short summary, not legal advice. Rules change, so check the current requirements with Türkiye Hava Sporları Federasyonu (THSF, Turkish Air Sports Federation) before you fly. Summary checked 13 Oct 2026.

Learning to fly

  • Paragliding training is run by sports clubs registered with THSF, or by other organisations that have signed a protocol with the federation.
  • Students and tandem pilots must hold personal accident insurance that covers paragliding or hang gliding.
  • Paragliding levels run P2 to P5, then tandem T1 and T2; P2 students may only fly under a coach's supervision, not on their own.
